A CASE OF SUBCHORIONIC HEMATOMA AND FEEBLE HEARTBEAT MANAGED WITH CLASSICAL HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT
The importance of addressing the underlying cause of disease in Homoeopathy
Abstract
Subchorionic hematoma (SCH) is a condition in which there is bleeding beneath the chorionic membranes that enclose the embryo in the uterus. It is thought to occur due to the partial detachment of chorionic membranes from the wall of the uterus. This case study highlights the importance of addressing the underlying cause of disease in Homoeopathy, as the patient’s emotional state following a traumatic event played a significant role in the development of her SCH.
Background
SCH is associated with an increased risk of pregnancy loss if it accounts for 25% or more of the gestational sac volume. The risk is even higher when the location of the hematoma is retroplacental. The earlier in pregnancy, a subchorionic hematoma is identified, the higher the rate of subsequent pregnancy failure. Women with SCH are at a fivefold or more increased risk of developing placental abruption. They are also at risk for other complications such as preterm labor, premature rupture of membranes, early and late pregnancy loss, and pregnancy-induced hypertension in the third trimester.
Diagnosis: Subchorionic Hematoma, feeble heartbeat, Hemorrhagic corpus luteal cyst
Presenting symptoms:
- Emotional suffering with mood swings
- Vaginal bleeding
History of presenting complaints:
- The patient had a shock on October 30th, was frightened by an incident that happened in the evening, and experienced abdominal pain until she fell asleep after that incident
- On October 31st, morning vaginal bleeding (color-light red), weakness, abdominal pain, and backache
Scan report on October 31st
- On November 3rd, the patient had heavy bleeding that did not stop and was admitted to the emergency room. The scanning was done, and the gynecologist said she was in the process of having an abortion
Scan report on November 3rd
Allopathic prescription on November 3rd
Scan report on November 10th
The patient was given a progesterone injection and pills for a week. The heavy bleeding stopped, but dark blood discharge continued. The patient was suffering from depression and severe mood changes, did not want to eat or drink anything, wept sometimes, and couldn’t concentrate on anything. She was very active and productive before and very systematic with her studies, but now she felt very weak. Sleep was disturbed, and she had chilliness on and off.
Homoeopathic prescription: IGNATIA 200/1 dose on November 19th
Follow-up on November 26th
The patient had a dream of getting menses the same day she had the medicine on 19th November. The next day, her mood swings and depression were much better. Vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain were absent in the following days.
Scan report on November 26th
Follow up on December 24th
The patient had a mild outbreak of tinea in the vulva, with severe itching. From the first week of December, she had no other emotional or physical problems. She was very happy and active like before.
Scan report on December 24th
Follow up on January 30th
On December 24th, the individual received a tetanus vaccine. For the past two days, she has been experiencing startling during sleep, fatigue, and nausea. After one week, pustules appeared on the pubis on two separate occasions, and the itching from the tenia worsened and then it got reduced
Before homoeopathic treatment
After homoeopathic medicine (Ignatia 200/1 dose on 19/11/2022)
This case study highlights the significance of addressing the root cause of illness in homoeopathy. The patient’s emotional state after a traumatic event was a significant factor in the development of her SCH. The homeopathic remedy IGNATIA improved the patient’s symptoms and stabilized her condition, which was prescribed based on her symptoms of abortion from fright, weakness from grief, sighing, sadness, mental depression, chill from fright and disturbed sleep after fright (since the day she became aware of the risk to her baby’s health). The treatment is progressing in the right direction, as the underlying pathology improves, and the skin symptoms have become more pronounced.
